Sheer Mag (US)

When we were rock stars

When we first listened to Need to Feel Your Love a couple of years ago, we could not even imagine what Sheer Mag had put in it. Because there was everything, and tons of it. From riffs like those on Meet Me in the Street which were taken down a peg or two by Tina Halladay’s voice, from the hyperseventies funky bass lines to the crazy The- Jackson-Five-like echoes to a slightly over the top punk attitude. All in all an attempt at giving value in 2017 to everything that had been cool four decades before. And while at it, at getting what is traditionally only heard in small venues on to the big stage. Lo-fi has never sounded so loud, nor so close.
