Pixx (UK)

In the name of grandma

The Londoner Hannah Rodgers calls herself Pixx when she signs records because it was her grandma’s nickname. She has already released a couple, The Age of Anxiety and Small Mercies, on that indie Holy See that 4AD has always been, although in its catalogue she is a weirdo because what she does, an easy-going post-millennial picking from here there and everywhere, is not really anything like what her labels mates do. This is the story of her life: she has never fitted in (and is proud of it) since those years at a Catholic school where she only prayed to Blondie, Nirvana and New Order. Amen.
